Almost at the end of the year: This time for real!
Published 12 months ago • 4 min read
Hey Reader,
Hope you have all been doing well. If you celebrate Christmas, hope you had a very happy one. You're all likely tired and broke and the last thing you need is me begging you to buy my books, right?
All right, don't buy my books, but do read my newsletter.
I'm still hanging in here!
This time, we're almost at the end of the year for sure! I can't wait. Not because I think the next year would be better, but well, it's another year.
News and Updates
Indie Ink Awards
Voting is still open and I would appreciate every single vote. There are a lot of amazing books so check out all of them!
BBNYA
Curse of Souls has an official BBNYA finalist badge now! It placed 15th among 280 books, which I'm really proud of!
Talking of Curse of Souls reminds me of Pella, my friend who I lost earlier this year, because it was an idea that we sort of started together. We both wanted to write based on the idea of magical curses/ illnesses that could kill you if you don't find your soulmate sort of thing. I came up with Curse of Souls while Pella came up with something a lot different. I alpha read it and it was awesome. Idk what will happen to all the book drafts that were in her google folder now.
In any case, Curse of Souls was also featured in the Indie Advent Calendar on Dec 23rd, and I'm over the moon over all the nice things they said about me!
WRITING
The end of the year approaching is not doing me any favours and I've not been able to do anything productive.
OTHER NEWS
The series of blog posts about the Chinese and Korean shows I've watched is still going on.
More chapters of Blade Reforged has been updated in my site. The password is TFKFMS. Please don't share it!
It's queer fantasy with romance, a lot of feelings, political intrigue, and magic.
If you want a sample of what it's like, the prequel novella, Blade of Castrial is currently on Net Galley and is open for reviews. You can grab a copy there, but let me know first so I can approve your request.
I meant to tell you all about this for a while, but I keep forgetting. I have a discord server. It's not very active because there aren't too many people there, but if y'all want to join, I'd love it. I'm on discord almost all the time, so it's the perfect place to stay in touch with me!
Author Spotlight
Our author of the month still has books here and here, so don't forget to check them out!
Promotions
The promotions are continuing!
There's an SPSFC promo that's happening right now. It's from Dec 27 to 29.
There's also the r/fantasy sale going on. It started on the 26th and will be ending on the 27th. Blue, Out of the Blue and all the books in the Jaya! series are on sale. So, be sure to check it out!
The r/fantasy sale is for a great cause as well and features over 600 books which are either free or $0.99.
Don't be alarmed that the link isn't taking you to reddit. The thing is the reddit site only has a google sheet and amazon links, so some author friends and I have set up this site for the sale, where you can see wide links, author's direct stores, whether the book was in SPFBO or other comps etc.
And I know it shows a direct store for me, which is my ko-fi shop. I'll be ever so grateful if you can get a copy of my books from there! I have both Blade of Castrial and Crown of Roses on presale there as well!
I'll be slowly migrating all my books to Ko-fi since it offers me 100% royalties.
If you want to see the reddit link, I'm linking it here. Big shoutout to Delilah Waan, Y.R. Liu, and Joanna Maciejewska for their work on it. They did the majority of the work. I only checked for if the book is on sale internationally or not.
The IASFA sale for Sci Fi books is also happening from Dec 26 to 30. I've discounted all the books in The Elite and the Rogues series for the sale, though only The Elitist Supremacy is part of it. Again, the first book and the box set are on my Ko-fi shop.
Since the remaining promos are all for Kobo Plus, I thought I'd put them here.
Kobo Plus Promo has Memories of Forgotten Waves as part of it and lasts till the end of December.
There's also a Kobo Plus Romantasy Promo going on which has Memories of Forgotten Waves as well as The Soul of Magic in it.
The Fantasy Promo on Kobo Plus is also going on. Also, reminder that our author of the month has all her books on Kobo Plus too!
In addition, there is a big Kobo Plus Promo happening on the Kobo site, for fantasy and Sci Fi books. Deathless Ones is part of it under epic fantasy, and Spaces of Silence is also there in the audiobooks section. Our author of the month also has books in the promo which are under historical and epic fantasies respectively.
I'm hoping at least some of you have tried the free 1 month trial because it's really such a good subscription. Who can say no to unlimited books?
I will likely be back around the 1st of next month to wish you all a happy new year, and also with some more news and other things.
Till then, stay safe and take care of yourselves.
As always, you can find my books on sale here and all my books here.

Hey Reader, The start of February feels like the beginning of the year in some ways since I'm mostly recovering from the previous year during January. February is when I lost my father, and it's not a happy month for me. I also lost my father-in-law in February, so overall, it's not a happy month for my family. All the news from around the world makes me feel even more bleak, and my heart goes out to all of you in the US, especially. I hope these four years pass quickly, and that this is the...
Hey Reader, I really wasn't sure I'd be able to get this newsletter out. I have been sick all this week, and brain wasn't braining AT ALL. But I'm feeling a bit better, brain fog has more or less gone, though energy levels are still very low. On to the rest of the newsletter. News and Updates NEW RELEASES You've no idea just how long I've been waiting to release this book and this series. From the day I started writing it. I always knew Alaric and Lucian were special, and I can't express just...
Hey Reader, I know I know, it's more promotions, BUT you get to check out some really cool books! And I get to eat and publish more books and buy Pluto food and snacks. Win Win Right?? News and Updates The Indie Ink Finalist official announcement has come, and as I already told y'all Pradyutita is now officially a finalist. It's also at $0.99 for this month! The best thing is all the finalists are read by a judge, so no more voting! Everything depends on the quality of the book, so I'm hoping...
