Hey Reader,
I know I know, it's more promotions, BUT you get to check out some really cool books! And I get to eat and publish more books and buy Pluto food and snacks. Win Win Right??
News and Updates
The Indie Ink Finalist official announcement has come, and as I already told y'all Pradyutita is now officially a finalist. It's also at $0.99 for this month!
The best thing is all the finalists are read by a judge, so no more voting! Everything depends on the quality of the book, so I'm hoping mine impresses a judge. While I'm very grateful to everyone who voted for me, I don't have enough of a following to get enough votes to get through what is essentially a popularity contest. Which is why I asked people NOT to nominate me, and yet, in the end, it happened, and somehow I'm, once again, a finalist.
I have set up a dedicated page on my site for physical books. It has all the books which have a physical edition and links to the paperbacks. Some of the books are available only on amazon, but most are available on amazon and Barnes and Noble.
I may add that I've reduced prices on my paperbacks as low as I can without incurring a loss on sales. There are books as low as $5 and the priciest is around $15.
Also, don't forget to join my discord server so you can chat with me and get updates, and give me updates on your lives as well! I'd love to get to know you all more!
Blade Broken has been selected for a new releases for less deal on Bookbub. Remember how I said, the New Releases for Less rarely makes its money back? Well, I'm hopeful that since it's under LGBT and not so pricey as fantasy, it will pay for itself.
Shades of Spring has also been accepted for a deal, but it's so expensive, I'm not sure if I'll go ahead with it. Fantasy is so pricey y'all.
Shades of Spring has queer characters too, so I should have applied under LGBT. My mistake.
Author Spotlight
Maya is also a finalist at the Indie Ink Awards! The two books I've read from her are both awesome. Neurodivergent rep, queer rep, chronic pain rep, themes of domestic abuse, trauma and PTSD all treated respectfully. Plus characters that are so real and relatable plus a voice to die for!
The first ever Queer Your E-reader for Free books is here, and The Elitist Supremacy is in it and available FREE till the 28th.
As y'all know, I love queer books. The more, the merrier. As a queer author who writes queer books, any event that can showcase queer books is something I wanna be part of. I took part in Queer Your Bookshelf last year for $0.99 books and it went really well, so I'm hoping this event would go better since it's for free books.
Also, the first ever, Stuff with Closed Door Promo for free book is also here, which, as its title suggests, are for books with closed door scenes if romance is involved. I've put The Elitist Supremacy in it as well, because it's not romance and whatever there are very closed door.
Though the official date for Stuff With Closed Door is the 26th, I've already set The Elitist Supremacy for free and the website is already live.
The Elitist Supremacy is first in a series, and I hope that the events would drive sales for the rest of the books as well.
There is a time limited promo for fantasy books at free or $0.99! I have put Memories of Forgotten Waves and The Flame of the Dragon's Oath both at $0.99 for the promo, so do check it out! As the name suggests, it's for adventure fantasy.
Also, my sincerest apologies to everyone because fucking amazon keeps doing this. I price match a book to zero, they change it back after a bit. I'm so fucking tired, y'all!
I have once again price matched and zon has confirmed, SO, Deeper Chaos and More Tales from the Epics are BOTH FREE on Zon as well in all marketplaces.
Seriously, I'm so so so over Zon's BS. Every other retailer lets us price our book to zero but the great river is a rule unto themselves so they won't let us do it, and instead we have to beg them to price match with the other retailers to set a book to free. Smh.
I mean, we don't have enough time in the day to check if the price change holds when we have to write, market, publish, make posts, maintain a website, a newsletter and a social media presence.
Anyway, don't forget that I have an exclusive book only for y'all, and you can download it from Bookfunnel or Book Cave.
Here I go again, telling y'all that Kobo Plus is THE best platform and subscription, so please, please, please, try it out, y'all. The first month is FREE, so what have you to lose???
Also, for the first time since May, my Kobo Plus figures are zero for December. Now January is almost gone and I fear it will be the same.
If you can afford it, please subscribe. You can get ALL my books on it, so no having to buy any. As long as you read it on Kobo Plus, I get paid. And re-reads count as well.
There are a lot of authors and a lot of cool books on there that you may need to pay a lot more to get otherwise.
Don't forget to follow me on Bookbub because it's the best place (other than this newsletter) to stay updated on deals and new releases. You will find a lots of cool authors and fantastic deals through them!
Since I bored you with promos, here's a tiny short that I wrote as an extra to Life Remains.
Frederick’s fingers skimmed the scars on Ken’s back. He had seen them so many times, been curious about them, but their relationship wasn’t one where he could ask Ken about them.
“What are you doing?” Ken asked, but he didn’t sound impatient. Not like he normally did. He sounded tired today, and perhaps he was.
And yet. Here he was, in Frederick’s home, in his bed.
The vampire didn’t know what to think of it.
“Clifford said it was a difficult hunt,” Frederick said, his hands softly caressing the scars on Ken’s back.
It was natural for a vampire hunter to have a few scars, but these were different. Frederick should know. He had inflicted enough scars on a lot of hunters, back in the day, when humans still held on to the illusion that they could take on vampires and win. The scars on Ken’s back were different. Too neat. Too symmetrical.
He swallowed past the rush fury that rose in him at their sight. At the realisation that someone had done this on purpose, to hurt Ken.
Ken sighed. “It was,” he said quietly. He turned his head to look at Frederick. “Perhaps I shouldn’t have come here today,” he said. “I’m not really up to having sex, to be honest.”
“Why did you come?” Frederick asked.
Ken turned over, sat up, bowing his head, his hair falling forward. It had grown too long. Again. Frederick wanted to run his hand through it, but he kept his hands to himself. He wasn’t sure what he felt for Ken and that bothered him.
“I didn’t want to be alone,” Ken murmured.
Frederick wasn’t used to this. He didn’t know how to comfort a human. Clifford had told him that the rogue vampires had butchered a family which included two small children. Humans always got weird when children were involved. Frederick couldn’t really understand it, but it was obvious that Ken needed something more from him. Something Frederick didn’t think he was capable of giving.
“Stay then,” Frederick said quietly. “No need to be alone.”
Ken nodded and gave a smile that was painful. “Thank you.”
As they lay down next to each other, Frederick wondered what he was doing. Sex was easy. He understood it, but this… this was something he didn’t comprehend.
“Do you need anything?” Frederick asked.
A beat.
“Can you hold me?” Ken’s voice was so low, that if he hadn’t been a vampire Frederick wouldn’t have heard him.
“Sure,” Frederick said as he moved closer to the warm body of the hunter, wrapping his arms around him.
Ken relaxed in his arms, turning and burrowing closer, his arms around Frederick. Ken was a large man, and yet, at this moment, he seemed small, fragile, vulnerable. Frederick had always been careful with the hunter, knowing how easy it would be to hurt him with his superior strength. Ken might be a hunter, but his strength was still no match for a vampire as old as Frederick. Right now, it seemed to Frederick that he could break Ken so easily, without even using force.
He didn’t want to, however.
As he held the human in his arms, Frederick wondered if this was love.
I will likely be back around the 31st with another book release and another cool news!

Hey Reader, The start of February feels like the beginning of the year in some ways since I'm mostly recovering from the previous year during January. February is when I lost my father, and it's not a happy month for me. I also lost my father-in-law in February, so overall, it's not a happy month for my family. All the news from around the world makes me feel even more bleak, and my heart goes out to all of you in the US, especially. I hope these four years pass quickly, and that this is the...
